Craig Thomas Hess
Licensed Funeral Director / Owner
Craig is the son of James and Abby Hess and was born and raised in LaGrange County on Witmer Lake in Wolcottville. He is a class of 2011 Lakeland High School graduate. Craig graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science in 2013. Craig started his career in funeral service in 2011. He resides on Sylvan Lake in Rome City with his canine companion, Bella and three feline friends, Otto, Russ, and Luna. When Craig is not at the funeral home caring for families, he is in the gym, bodybuilding, or spending time with his family and friends. He has taken an oath to serve families and care for loved ones when called upon.

James P. Hess
Ph.D. / Service Attendant
James (Jimmy) is the son of Ron and Judy Hess, native of Witmer Lake in Wolcottville. He graduated from Lakeland High School in 1983. He then went on to obtain his Bachelor's degree in Business from Manchester University in 1987. In 1990, he and Abby wed. The two then moved on to Witmer Lake in 1991. He obtained his Master's degree in 1993 from Indiana University, from there he went on to obtain his Ph.D. in Leadership in 2013. He served LaGrange County as commissioner from 2001 to 2005. He is currently a professor at Purdue Fort Wayne. He enjoys traveling, reading, spending time on the lake, learning languages, visiting friends, and talking. He is committed to serving families with his wife alongside his and son.

James P. Hess

Abigail (Soper) Hess
M.S. / Service Attendant
Abigail (Abby) is the daughter of Tom Soper and Sandy Gail. She was born and raised in Howe, Indiana on South Twin Lake. She graduated from Lakeland High School in 1983 as Salutatorian. She then went on to work as a Nursing Home Administrator for 6 years. She went back to Indiana University and obtained her Master's Degree in 2013. She has been teaching for the last 16 years - 15 of those were spent teaching at Wolcott Mills Elementary School. She is now a teacher at Garrett Middle School. She enjoys shopping, reading, animals, spending time outside, and traveling. She is looking forward to serving the community even further by helping families in their time of need.

Abigail (Soper) Hess
