Tommy Johnson Obituary

Tommy Johnson, age 79, of Howe, IN passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.  Mr. Johnson was born on April 3, 1942, in Halo, KY to Willard Sr. and Disia (Slone) Johnson.  On December 22, 1961, he married Essie Bates in Kentucky.  For 17 years, Tommy was employed by Fan Coach in LaGrange, IN.  Tommy loved music and playing countless hours on his guitar.  He was often found tinkering in his garage, working on his cars, and painting cars.  Tommy enjoyed relaxing, watching the birds, and sipping on a nice cold Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Son, Tommy (Bobbie) Johnson of Sturgis, MI.
Daughter, Treas (Jerry) Combs of Howe, IN.
Grandson, Jason (Eliza) Johnson of Howe, IN.
Grandson, Timmy (Stephanie) Combs of Howe, IN.
Granddaughter, Crystal (Nathan) Grabe of Sturgis, MI.
Granddaughter, Amy (TJ) Riser of Howe, IN.
Grandson, Eric (Vickie) Johnson of Howe, IN.
Granddaughter, Ashley (Timothy Hall) Combs of Howe, IN.
Great-grandchildren, Haley Johnson, Kylie Johnson, Sawyer Johnson, Kyan Combs, Briana Welch, Corbin Welch, Adalynn Grabe, Everlee Grabe, Myka Grabe, Jaden Riser, Hope Riser, Eric Johnson Jr., Austin Johnson, and Tee Hall.
Great-great-grandchildren, Malcom Baker and Violet Baker.
Special Niece, Angela Marion.
Brother, Timothy (Carol) Johnson of Bevensville, KY.
Sister, Lou Hettie Smallwood of Wheelwright, KY.

Several nieces and nephews.

Tommy was preceded in death by both his parents, siblings; Willard Johnson Jr., Willey Johnson, Delamas Johnson, Fred Johnson, Richard Johnson, Kenny Johnson, Minnie Louise Lackey, and Ruth Johnson. 

Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 1:00pm with calling two hours prior from 11:00am-1:00pm at Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 603 South Detroit Street, LaGrange, IN 46761.

Burial will take place at Mongo Cemetery following the service.

Officiating will be Pastor Kenneth Beverly.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Ark Animal Shelter.
