Shawn Charles Denny

Shawn Charles Denny, age 40, of LaGrange, IN passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at his residence.  Mr. Denny was born on June 23, 1982 in Framingham, MA. In 2000, he graduated from Lakeland High School in LaGrange, IN.  He then continued his education at Tri-State University in Angola, IN.  Shawn served his country honorably with the United States Army National Guard during Operation Iraqi Freedom for 8 years in active duty.  He was formerly employed by Lake Park Industries in Shipshewana, IN and Brinco in Bristol, IN.  On June 6, 2016, he married Tammy Ferguson in LaGrange, IN.  Shawn was known for marching to the beat of his own drum and he did exactly that when he played the drums in a band in Bowling Green, OH.  He had an eclectic taste in music, which ranged from Nirvanna, the Pixies, and to Katy Perry, which he loved the song “California Girls.” Shawn was an avid action figure collector and really enjoyed Marvel superheroes.  He also spent countless hours watching Dr. Who and all the scary horror films available.  Reading, drawing, and spending time outside were a couple other pastimes Shawn enjoyed partaking in.  Shawn was a good friend, amazing father, loving husband, and a caring family member to those he loved dearly.

Daughter, Layla Liddy of LaGrange, IN.

Son, David Denny of LaGrange, IN.

Daughter, Taylor Hoff of Goshen, IN.

Mother and Father, Audrey and John Senghas of Bloomdale, OH.

Biological Father, Arthur C. Denny of LaGrange, IN.

Grandmother, Wilma and John Foley of Chester, MA.

Sister, Eileen and Aaron Ward of Bothell, WA.

Niece, Ada Ward of Bothell, WA.

Best Friends, Geoff March, Mary Norris, David Vogler, and David Hedeen.

Many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceded in death by grandparents, Richard E. Senghas, June Senghas, and Maryann Denny.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 1:00pm with visitation prior from 11:00am-1:00pm at Grace Sturgis, 300 Timothy Drive, Sturgis, MI 49091.
