Obituary

Penny Jean Halferty, age 73 of LaGrange, IN passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at her residence.  Ms. Halferty was born on April 21, 1951 in Elkhart, IN to Edward Dressler and Evelyn (Wilsey) Bailey.  She graduated from Sturgis High School in Sturgis, MI.  In 1985, she married her husband of over 38 years Al J. Halferty.  Penny worked as a private contractor in the trucking industry alongside her husband for numerous years.  She also was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker during the years she transported.  Penny loved watching T.V. and especially anything on the Lifetime Channel.  She also was known to be quite the gaming enthusiast on her cell phone.  In her young years, she enjoyed camping, crocheting, and canning.  Penny was also quite adventurous and enjoyed partaking in the Sturgis Toy Run and going to the races in Mottville, MI.  She was a member and belonged to Life Bridge at the local Parkview Hospital in LaGrange, IN.  Penny was her own person and loved her family.  She will be missed by those who loved her.  

Survivors include:

Daughter, Julie and Rodney Daler of Rome City, IN.

Son, Sam and Vonda Glasscoe of Sturgis, MI.

8 Grandchildren.

11 Great-grandchildren.

Brother, Ed and Debra Dressler of White Pigeon, MI.

Brother, George and Terri Dressler of Cincinnati, OH.

Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and grandparents.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
