Myra Laubenstein Obituary

Myra Laubenstein, age 81, of Messick Lake in Wolcottville, IN passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 at her residence.  Mrs. Laubenstein was born on October 11, 1940 in Gallatin, TN to Delbert and Bonnie (Meadows) Key.  Myra graduated from High School.  She worked for her brother’s business Midwest Title Company as an assistant for several years.  On February 14, 2001, she married Horst Laubenstein. She was an active Deacon and member of the First Presbyterian Church in LaGrange, IN.   Myra was also a member of the American Legion and Eastern Star.  Myra loved the lake life, boating, and spending time at her lake house.  She enjoyed canning and square dancing as well.  Myra traveled frequently and always loved her trips with her sisters to Las Vegas, NV.  One of Myra’s accomplishments included owning a shop with her sister in Twitty City in Nashville, TN.  Myra was a very involved loving grandmother who never missed any of her grandchildren’s events.  She had a great sense of humor and could easily light up any room.  Myra always put her family first and loved spending every moment she could with them.

Daughter, Diana and Dean Columbus of Naples, FL.
Daughter, Lisa and Rafael Cervantes of LaGrange, IN.
Step-daughter, Wendy and Greg Shaffer of Traverse City, MI.
Grandson, Nathan and Christina Stuttle of Marion, IN.
Grandson, Jared and Teresa Stuttle of Washington.
Grandson, Cody and Rachel Stuttle of Pennsylvania. 
Grandson, Jesse Branham and Daniel Orlando of Messick Lake in Wolcottville, IN.
Granddaughter, Alyce Branham and Tanner Martin of Fort Wayne, IN.
Granddaughter, Alexis Brandham of Cleveland, OH.
Great-grandchildren, Jayger, Carson, Evie, Catie, Benjamin, and Emerson Stuttle.
Sister, Margaret Rowe of Terre Haute, IN.
Brother, Walter and Lenore Key of Greenwood, IN.

Myra was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Martha Huff, Bernadine Rowe, and Rachel Carter.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 1:00pm with visitation prior from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 603 South Detroit Street, LaGrange, IN 46761.

Officiating the services will be Rev. Ken Weaver.

Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, IN.

Memorial donations may be directed to First Presbyterian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
