Michael J Frost

Michael J. Frost, "Frosty", age 50, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 in Fortuna, CA.  He was born on February 4, 1970 in Elkhart, IN to Gordon Frost and Carolyn Antone.  In 1988, he graduated from Lakeland High School in LaGrange, IN.  He attended Glen Oaks Community College and later went on to Mid America Mortuary College where he gradated in 1996.  He was a licensed funeral director in Indiana for 24 years.  Mike was the fourth-generation owner of Carney-Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange, IN until 2019.  After, he was a licensed funeral director in California.  He was a member of DMORT region 5 and later went on to ASPR LRAT Secretary of Preparedness and Response where he was deployed all around the country.  He started DMORT and ASPR LRAT in 2001 until 2019 and was proud of his endeavors and being in such an elite organization.  Mike was a former member of the Cemetery Board in Howe, IN, Howe Lions Club, Meridian Sun Lodge 76, OES Sylvan Chapter 251, LaGrange Shrine Club, and Rotary.  He was former president of the United Fund in LaGrange, IN and an active volunteer the American Legion Post #215.  He enjoyed watching sports and talking sports with his grandsons.  Mike was an avid Indianapolis Colts, Notre Dame sports, and Chicago Cubs fan.  He loved the Pillsbury Doughboy and collected doughboy memorabilia.

Daughter, Kristin (Frost) and Joseph Huffman of Mishawaka, IN.
Mother, Carolyn Antone of Wolcottville, IN.
Brother, Gordon and Wendy Frost of Elkhart, IN.
Brother, David Frost of Howe, IN.
Brother, Robert and Noel Frost of Wolcottville, IN.
Brother, Matthew and Heather Frost of LaGrange, IN.
Half-sister, Elizabeth Antone of Wolcottville, IN.
Grandson, Prestyn Frost of Mishawaka, IN.
Grandson, Isaac Frost of Mishawaka, IN.
Mother of his daughter, Melissa Frost of LaGrange, IN.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.  

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Frost, granddaughter, Brianna Frost, and grandparents.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 6:00pm with visitation prior from 2:00pm-6:00pm at Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 603 South Detroit Street, LaGrange, IN 46761.  

Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in the Spring.

Officiating the service will be Rev. Ken Weaver.
