Kenneth Charles Bowen

Kenneth Charles Bowen, age 75, of Kendallville, IN passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.  Ken was born on June 13, 1946 in Wisconsin to William and Loraine (Blodgett) Bowen.  Mr. Bowen graduated from High School in Michigan.  He then served his country honorably with the United States Navy for 4 years.  He married Joyce (Zehr) Bowen.  Ken was a pastor at a Church in Holland, MI for 2 years.  He then served as a chaplain for Byron Health Center in Fort Wayne, IN for 10 years.  Ken retired from Ricker’s in Fort Wayne, IN as a manager after many years of dedicated service.  Ken loved gospel music, singing, and playing the guitar and piano.  He enjoyed teaching Sunday school and preaching the Lord’s word.  Ken was fond of camping, watching old movies, and playing cards.  He persevered his whole life.  He was a happy man with a great sense of humor who could make anyone smile.  Ken was very loving, caring, and enjoyed spending time with his family.  

Survivors include:
Son, Kenneth and Tonya Heiniger of Auburn, IN.
Daughter, Cindy and Chuck Bugert of LaOtto, IN.
Daughter-in-law, Shannon Heiniger of Kendallville, IN.
10 Grandchildren.
14 Great-grandchildren.
Sister, Carol Bowen of Michigan.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 children; Velvet Heiniger and Pastor Mel Heiniger, and 2 brothers; Richard and Mark Bowen.  

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 3:00pm with calling 1 hour prior from 2:00pm-3:00pm at Green Chapel Redeemed Church, 00E West 700 South Wolcottville, IN 46795.
