Jim J Burkhead

Jim J. Burkhead, age 59, of LaGrange, IN passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at his residence.  Mr. Burkhead was born on October 6, 1960 in LaGrange County to Donald Burkhead and Judy (Witham) Shafer.  Jim received his education from Lakeland High School in LaGrange.  On June 2, 2015, he married Sandra Lynn Albaugh in LaGrange.  Jim worked for Lake Park in Shipshewana, IN for 20 years as a forklift driver.  He had a passion for being outdoors, fishing, camping, and cruising on his Honda motorcycle.  Jim was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers football and NASCAR fan.  He was very family oriented and loved hosting huge Sunday dinners for his family.  One of his specialties was beef and noodles.  Jim’s life revolved around his 8 grandchildren and he thoroughly loved every second he spent with them.  He was an ornery guy but without a doubt, would give anyone the shirt off his back.

Spouse, Sandra “Sandy” Lynn Burkhead of LaGrange.
Mother, Judy (Keith) Shafer of Mongo, IN.
Father, Donald (Delores) Burkhead of LaGrange, IN.
Step-son, Daryl (Laura) Goody of Angola, IN.
Step-son, Jeremy (Veronica) Goody of South Carolina.
Step-son, Keith Caldwell of LaGrange.
Step-daughter, Chelsea (Terry) Brown of White Pigeon, MI.
Step-daughter, Rachel Caldwell of Shipshewana, IN.
8 Grandchildren, Kalysta Shepherd, Kayden Goody, Kathryn Goody, and Daniel Goody all of Angola, IN, Renesmee Caldwell, Janessa Caldwell, and Isaiah Caldwell all of Shipshewana, IN, and Avery Brown of White Pigeon, MI.  
2 sisters, 3 step-brothers, and 3 step-sisters.

Jim was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents, 3 uncles; Pete, Ron, and William Burkhead, and a cousin Billy Jack.  

Private family visitation will be held.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020 from 12:00pm-3:00pm at LaGrange Church of God, 777 North Detroit Street, LaGrange, IN 46761.
