Obituary

 

Gustave “Gus” Henry Berghoff Jr., age 68, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.  Mr. Berghoff was born on April 26, 1955 in Quebec, Canada.  In 1974, Gus graduated from Carroll High School in Fort Wayne.  He continued his education at Ivy Tech Community College.  On June 17, 1983, he married his wife of 40 years, Kathy Hamilton.  Gus was employed at Russ Moore Transmission for nearly 10 years.  For over 27 years, he worked as a passionate multi-talented machinist.  He began his career at C&A tool for about 15 years.  Then he ventured onto Micropulse, where he diligently worked for another 10 years.  He owned and operated Berghoff Welding for 5 years.  Gus was currently employed at X&Y Tool for close to a year.  Other than Gus’s main hobby of working as a machinist, he also enjoyed riding his Harley, car rides, and Star Wars Legos.  He was both brilliant and stubborn.  Gus was well known for his classic practical jokes.  He was very family oriented, loved spending time with his loved ones, and enjoyed the camaraderie of his canine companion, Arlo.  

 

Survivors include:

Spouse, Kathy Berghoff of Fort Wayne, IN.

Son, Justin and Laura Berghoff of Churubusco, IN.

Son, Kris Berghoff of Jacksonville, NC.

Daughter, Robin Berghoff of Fort Wayne, IN.

Daughter, Hannah Berghoff- Rogers and Jon Rogers of Milford, MI.

Grandchildren, Breckyn Berghoff, Paxton Berghoff, and Elliott Rogers.

Canine Companion, Arlo.

Many cousins and extended family.

Gus was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles.

 

A memorial service will be scheduled and announced at a later time.
