Gordon J Frost

LaGrange – Gordon J.  Frost, age 82, of LaGrange, IN, died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor of LaGrange. 

He was born on November 28, 1938 to Lloyd J. and Alice M. (Carney) Ely in Sturgis, Michigan, and was later adopted by his Stepfather Henry R. Frost.  He graduated from LaGrange High School in 1958 and attended Indiana College of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis, where he became the fifth member of his family to graduate from the school. 

Gordon was a licensed funeral director, director of Wagner-Frost Funeral Home in Bristol, co-owner of Carney-Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange, and a distinguished business man who continued the family tradition of successful businesses, which included the Frosty Bowl bowling alley and local Buick Dealership.  He was a member of Cross Pointe Family Church of the Nazarene in Kendallville, Indiana, a 50-year member of the Meridian Son Lodge #76, past president and member of the LaGrange Mizpah Shriners, Lifetime member of the Sons of the American Legion Post # 215, Howe Lions Club, and the Knights of Pythias Lodge.  

He married P. Carolyn Antone on August 24th, 1963 in Bristol, Indiana and together they had 5 boys.  Gordon later married Margie L. Goodrich on January 6, 1990 in LaGrange, Indiana.

He is survived by five sons, Gordon J. (GJ) and Wendy Frost of Elkhart, Indiana, David J. Frost of Howe, Indiana, Robert J. and Noel Frost of Wolcottville, Indiana, Michael J. Frost of Fortuna, California, and Mathew J. and Heather Frost of LaGrange, Indiana; step-daughter, Erin and Jeremy McDonald of Fort Wayne, Indiana Step-son, John and Hope Sheehan of Fort Wayne, Indiana; as well as 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his wife Margie L. Frost, his parents, his stepfather, Phil LeRoque, and a great-granddaughter, Brianna Frost.  

Funeral service with Masonic funeral rites will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 2:00pm with visitation 3 hours prior from 11am-2pm at Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services formerly Carney-Frost Funeral Home, 603 South Detroit Street, LaGrange, Indiana 46761.

Burial will take place following the funeral service at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, Indiana.

Officiating the services will be Pastor Richard Secor of Cross Pointe Family Church of the Nazarene in Kendallville, Indiana.
