Gerald L. Hart Sr.

Gerald L. Hart Sr., 76, of Shipshewana, IN passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.  Mr. Hart was born on April 16, 1945 in Goshen, IN to Daniel and Clara (Kaiser) Hart.  In 1949, he went to live with his foster parents Alvin and Lizzie Meyers.  He graduated from Brighton High School.  On April 29, 1967, he married the only woman he has ever loved, Jeannie Ilene Hesher.  Gerald retired from Coachmen RV after 37 years of dedicated service.  He loved being outdoors and taking care of yard work.  Gerald was a huge sports fanatic and especially enjoyed IU Basketball.  He was a devout family man, loved his grandchildren, and enjoyed spending quality time with his loved ones.

Spouse, Jeannie Ilene Hart of Shipshewana, IN.
Son, Gerald Jr. and Dodie Hart of Howe, IN.
Daughter, Tracy and Kevin Lane of Sturgis, MI.
Granddaughter, Madison and Alexis Emerick of Sturgis, MI.
Grandson, Brodee and Sarah Hart of Brighton, IN.
Grandson, Loren Lane of Sturgis, MI.
Great-grandchildren, Noah and Luca Hart of Brighton, IN.
Step-great-grandchildren, Oakley Eldridge and Dakota Emerick of Sturgis, MI.
Sister, Rose Hart of Fort Wayne, IN.
Sister, Shirley and Roger Herman of Bronson, MI.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 2:00pm with fellowship to follow until 4:00pm at Scott United Methodist Church, 7020 N 675 W, Shipshewana, IN 46565.
