Eddie Lee Benson Was born on February 27, 1945 to the late Ed Benson and Mary Alice George in Birmingham, AL.
Eddie Grew up in Porter, AL and attended school and graduated. Eddie Accepted Christ in her life at an early age, which she loved.
She relocated to Fort Wayne, IN in the late 1960s. Eddie worked in the medical field for over 35 years as a CNA to help with her passion and love for people. Eddie loved her grandchildren, family, and friends. Her loving caring smile was shared with everyone that came into contact with her. Her smile was contagious and beautiful. She loved good cooking and holidays with family. Eddie loved to help anyone she could and would give her last to make sure everyone was ok.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, John T. Benson of Fort Wayne, IN, two grandchildren, Jalesa Bridges of Kentucky and John T. Benson Jr. of Fort Wayne, IN, great-grandson, Treyvon Gregory Thompson, Sisters, Julia (Quinnice) Morgan, Barbara Bassett, Lena Samuels, and a brother, Rev. Robert E.(Lynn) Benson Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior from 10:00am-11:00am at The Destiny Dome Embassy of Cathedral of Praise, 3501 Harris Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46808
Burial will take place following the funeral service at Concordia Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne, IN.
Pallbearers will be Troy Benson Sr., Troy Benson Jr., C.J. Benson. Courtney Benson, Marvin Cowan, Malachi Cowan, Cameron Benson, and Matt Mulcher.
The family of Eddie “Bae Bae” would like to thank everyone for their love, support, and encouraging words during this time. A special thanks to all the children who came and adopted my mother as your grandmother.
