Dr. Jennifer "Doc Jen" Nunnally D.C., C.C.C.N. Obituary

Dr.Jennifer Elizabeth Nunnally, D.C., C.C.C.N. or best known as”Doc Jen,” 49, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at her residence.  She was born on August 22, 1973 in Fort Wayne.  In 1992, she graduated from Snider High School in Fort Wayne.  She continued her education at McLennan Community College in Waco, TX. and then finished her education at Parker School of Chiropractic in Dallas, TX in 2007.  Doc Jen was inspired by practicing her precise chiropractic skills with all levels of athletes with various backgrounds.  2009 was a pivotal year for Doc as she began practicing chiropractic care for the NFL Miami Dolphins, Noble County semi-pro football team Wolf Pack at the Classic City Crush Tournament, CONCACAF Gold Cup soccer event, and the Fort Wayne Freedom arena football team.  In 2010, she founded Hoosier Sports and Chiropractic of Fort Wayne and currently owned and operated her business out of Iron Society Strength and Fitness in Fort Wayne.  Doc Jen owned and operated her practice with the mission statement of serving as a cornerstone in the community by providing, educating, and promoting a brain based approach to natural health through chiropractic care, and to improve the quality of life to all families and athletes whose lives she was blessed to serve.  Jen’s clients were her family and she enabled each individual she served to feel as a priority and special.  Periodically, she operated on what her friends and family would state as “Jen Time,” for her tardiness. However, she always took care of each and everyone of her patients whose ages ranged from 4 hours old to 96 years old with the utmost respect and diligent care.  As her years of expertise and skills continued to rampantly flourish, she expanded her skill sets and started a program for children called Chiro Kids and began Hoosier Hyperbaric.  Jen’s love for expanding her knowledge and skill set within chiropractic care never ceased and she always was searching for ways to help better serve those in need.  Whether it was attending seminars, going to yearly NFL Combine events, or research, she always seeked better information on her trade and passion.  From 2014-present, she performed chiropractic care on the Fort Wayne Derby Girls, whom she loved dearly and truly valued her time and friendships with.  Doc Jen was active in chiropractic care for the Senior U.S. Open Golfing event, various local strongman events, and a title sponsor/supporter for FW22.  She was a strong supporter of the local police and firefighters in Fort Wayne.  Jen enjoyed partaking in Greenfest in support of her firefighter friends and patients.  Jen had many unique and fun hobbies that she enjoyed full heartedly.  She was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, and New York Yankees fan.  Jen took pleasure in golfing, traveling, girls trips, visiting wineries and breweries, and going to concerts.  She loved hard rock music including Alice in Chains, Shinedown, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Theory of a Deadman, and Foo Fighters.  One of Jen’s favorite pastimes was off-roading/ wheeling in her Jeep.  She belonged to a group called “Dirty Jeep Girls” where she would engage in many of her “shenanijens.”  One of the events she was passionately involved with was called “Go Topless” and it was in support of wounded veterans.  Festivities and holidays were something Jen always enjoyed.  She loved participating in St. Patrick’s Day, Cinco De Mayo, and Christmas and normally had some unique set of “Crazy Socks” that she would help commemorate the day with.  Jen was a prominent supporter of the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the American Suicide Prevention Foundation.  On September 11, 2022, she founded and initiated the very first “Cecil’s Vision” golf outing in loving remembrance of her son, Cecil David Nunnally II. Words cannot fully describe Jen’s aura and character.  She was “Sunshine with Dimples” with an infectious laugh,  a loving friend to everyone, a deep caring gentle soul, who wasn’t one to skimp on saying, “I love you” as she greeted you or said goodbye.  She was a true giver.  She never turned down a friend or person in need and always gave everyone all of her love and compassion.  Jen loved unicorns and Wonder Woman and both majestically correlated to her monumental character and spirit.  Doc Jen was a  loving mother, grandmother, friend, Chiropractor, dog mom to Chloe and King, and community staple.  She radiated positivity, love, and warmth and will truly be missed by every life she blessed and graced.  Doc Jen, thank you for being our friend and allowing us the privilege of knowing you on this journey.
