Derrick A Lackey

Derrick A. Lackey, age 30, of Angola, IN passed away on February 9, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.  He was born on November 2, 1990 in Mobile, AL to Alford Craig and Tammy Elaine (Watkins) Lackey.  He attended Prairie Heights High School and worked for Forest River RV for 1 year before becoming an auto mechanic.  He enjoyed working and tinkering on vehicles as well as flipping them.  Derrick was a Notre Dame Football enthusiast.  He liked to indulge in “fat cakes” or as some know them as Little Debbie snack cakes.  He enjoyed joking, having fun, and spending time with his loved ones and canine companion, Soara.

Aunt, Deb & Scott Chapman.
Aunt, Monica & Mike Harper.
Aunt, Linda (Stutzman) Lackey.
Uncle, Alexander Salva.
Uncle, Ray & Linda Lacky.
Uncle, David Lackey & Tonya Matinez.
Uncle, Randy & Sherri Lackey.
Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Derrick was preceded in death by his father, Maternal Grandfather Mark Watkins, Maternal Step Grandfather Alexander Salva, Paternal Grandfather Alford Lackey, Paternal Grandmother Minnie Louise Lackey and three uncles; Mark Watkins and Dorman Watkins and John Lackey.

Visitation will be held on Saturday February 27, 2021 from 12 to 2 p.m.  A Memorial Service will start at 2 p.m. with the Pastor James Bartlett of the Mongo United Methodist Church officiating.   Burial will take place later in spring in Greenwood Cemetery.
