Catherine B. Ward, age 85, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, IN. Ms. Ward was born on May 7, 1935 in Flint, MI to the late Charles L. and Florence (McLaughlin) LaBa. She graduated from Southside High School in Fort Wayne. On June 11, 1955, she married Robert L. Ward at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fort Wayne. Catherine worked for Kay Campbells Clothing Store in her younger years. In 2001, she retired from East Allen County Schools after 15 years of dedicated service in the Cafeteria. Catherine was an avid card player and loved playing Bridge, Euchre, and Pinochle. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends and had seen several beautiful areas such as Hawaii, Alaska, and parts of Europe. Her absolute favorite place to frequent was Siesta Key, FL. She enjoyed watching college sports, ESPN, and NASCAR races. Catherine had a love for music and would attend concerts. Known as “Sunshine Katie,” she had a smile that would light up the room and a laugh that expressed love. She was extremely thoughtful, caring, and loved spending time with her family and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11:00am with calling prior from 10:00am-11:00am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804
Burial will take place at Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne following the Memorial Mass.
Memorial Donations may be directed to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and or Visiting Nurse Hospice Home.
