Carl E. Green

Carl E. Green, age 73, of LaGrange, IN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at his residence.  Mr. Green was born on July 18, 1950 in Lexington, KY.  After graduating from High School, he served his country during the Vietnam War.  On August 13, 2004, he married Patricia Joan Troyer in LaGrange, IN.  For 20 years, Carl was the lead vocalist for a band called “Long Shot.”  Together, he and his band traveled across New York and Oklahoma playing, entertaining, and putting on absolutely stellar shows.  Carl had an essence and aura when he sang.  He could feel the music and portray the words with a special kind of flow and aesthetic.  Carl also enjoyed woodworking, painting, as well as listening to music.  Carl had what his family referred to as a unique “Hillbilly” humor.  He was remarkably known for getting along with all who he encountered and based off the legends, trips to the doctor’s office were actually quite enlightening and fun.  Carl loved decorating for Christmas and legend has it that the first Christmas he spent in LaGrange County that you could see his well decorated and illuminated home from Noble County and beyond.  Carl was self-proclaimed world’s best cook and no one was taking that title from him.  He also was notorious for holding up the show when at a restaurant by telling his off the wall jokes to the servers and restaurant staff.  Carl had a sense of humor unlike most, a heart of gold, and was the kind of friend you would want to have.  He loved his wife, all of his children, grandchildren, and friends he met while on his earthly journey.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Son, Bill Erickson of Illinois.
Daughter, Mary (Jerry) Winfrey of Howe, IN.
Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Helen (Green) Dunn, 1st wife, Judy Green, granddaughter, Carley Green, and brother, Butch Green.

There are no services scheduled at this time and cremation will take place.
