Betty Kay (Sweringen) Smead, age 78, of LaGrange, IN passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Life Care Center in LaGrange, IN. Ms. Smead was born on May 22, 1943 in Springfield, MS. She graduated from Missouri High School. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She loved to stay home and take care of her loved ones. Betty enjoy listening to country music, playing bingo, and being social with all she encountered. Betty had a heart of gold and will be missed by her family, friends, and loved ones.

Survivors include:
Daughter, Jewel Christine Smead of Fort Wayne, IN.
Daughter, Catherine Dawn and Gary Hollar of Elkhart, IN.
Daughter, Kimberly and Ron Frazier of LaGrange, IN.
11 Grandchildren.
18 Great-grandchildren.
Brother, Harvey Sweringen of Indianapolis, IN.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, father of her children, Wayne Kennedy Smead, daughters; Kandi Lynn and Wendy Kay Smead, and a sister, Patty Sweringen.
