Arlene Joan (Cleveland) Bennett, age 89, of LaGrange, IN passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Life Care Center of LaGrange in LaGrange, IN. Ms. Bennett was born on February 18, 1935 in Nappanee, IN to the late Raymond Cleveland and Ellen Marie (Hamilton) Holst. She graduated from LaGrange High School. On August 24, 1965, she married John W. Bennett in LaGrange. In 1997, she retired from Syndicate in Middlebury, IN after many years of dedicated and quality service. In the 80s, she loved to go camping with her family and soak up all the quality time she could. Arlene really enjoyed watching baseball, NASCAR, and football. She was especially a fan of Notre Dame football. Arlene also was an avid fan of soap operas and when Young and the Restless came on everyone knew to let her enjoy her show in solitude. She was extremely family oriented and loved all the quality time she had with her loved ones and friends. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

Sister, Maurene Cleveland of Elkhart, IN.
Step-brother, Jerry Burghduff of Rome City, IN.
Step-sister, Linda Hochstetler of Rome City, IN.
Mother of grandchild, Joyce Smith of Bronson, MI.
Many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Arlene was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Raymond and Clara Cleveland, mother and step-father, Marie and Jack Holst, sisters; Rheta Yoder, Wilma Foreman, brothers; Aldon, Larry, and Lee Cleveland, step-sister, Patricia Mikel, and step-brother, Terry Burghduff.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 1:00pm at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, IN.
Officiating the graveside service will be Jerry Burghduff.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.
