Willie Owsley Jr., age 79, of LaGrange, IN passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Majestic Care of West Allen.  Mr. Owsley was born on June 11, 1944 in Knott County, KY to the late Willie Sr. and Lona (Prater) Owsley.  Willie owned and operated a logging company for 5 years.  He was an avid fan of garage sales, collecting toys, coins, jewelry, and rings.  Willie enjoyed his snacks and particularly popcorn and candy.  He loved listening to music, bluegrass, The Rolling Stones, and singing even though he may not always know all the words.  Willie was a light hearted and fun man.  He loved dressing up as Santa and spoiling his loved ones.  Willie was extremely family oriented, loved his friends, and always came through for those in need.  He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, staff and residents at Majestic Care.

Survivors include: Son, Rodney Owsley. Daughter, Shelly Arguilez. Several step-children. Grandchildren, Jessica Arguilez (Dylan Hall), Nick Owlsey, and Adam Owsley. Several step-grandchildren. Great-grandchild, Opal Owsley. Several Step-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, significant other of 41 years, Marietta Ballinger, 9 brothers and sisters, and mother of his children, Evelyn Owsley- Hale.

There are no services scheduled at this time and cremation will follow.  Burial will take place at a later time in Kentucky.
