Susan Eilene Dempsey, age 76, of Turkey Lake, IN passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at her residence.  Ms. Dempsey was born on April 22, 1948, in Sturgis, MI to Arnold and Lila (Sheets) Connelly.  In 1966, she graduated from Lakeland High School in LaGrange, IN.  She continued her education at Glen Oaks Community College in Centreville, MI where she obtained an associate's degree.  After 25 years of dedicated service, she retired from Prairie Height Community Schools in rural LaGrange, IN, as a teacher's assistant.  Susan was a phenomenal cook and baker.  She organized and founded "Susie Homemaker" Facebook group, where she published her own recipes, gave cooking tips, and posted photos of her delicious creations.  Sue also enjoyed the adventure of going shopping and attending sporting events for her grandchildren.  She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and feline friend, "Boots."

Survivors include: Daughter, Michelle and Randy Henschen. Son, Mark and Tonya Dempsey. Grandchildren, Samantha (Jason Hutter) Henschen, Madison (Garrett Trausch) Henschen, Abbie (Dakota) McCoy, Steven Smith, Tabitha Dempsey, Veronica Dempsey, Michael Castaneda, Reed Dempsey, Riley (Becca) Rasler, Ryan Rasler, and Raygen Rasler. Sister, Sandra Yoder. Sister, Diane (Fritz) Schlemmer. Sister, Sherry (Robert) Ballard. Sister-in-law, Sherry Connelly. Brother-in-law, Bob Pomeroy.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, father of her children and spouse of many years, Mark Dempsey, Son, Michael Dempsey, Siblings, Roger Connelly and Ann Pomeroy, and a brother-in-law, Bob Yoder.

Per Sue's wishes, there are no services to be scheduled at this time and cremation will take place.
