Shelly J. Lauderdale, born September 6, 1966, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma peacefully received her official angel wings Saturday, March 1st, 2025, at her home in Kendallville, IN.

She was the beloved wife of Rita Courtney. Bonus mother to Sherri (Randy) Lackey of Lagrange and Eric (Glenna) Root of Kendallville. She was a proud grandmother to Casey Montgomery of Howe, Stephanie (Jeremy) Gustas of Lagrange, Brendan Root of Kendallville, Emily (Dillon) Kaiser of Walkerton, Sharon Sargent, Joshua Root, Matthew Root of Kendallville. She was the biggest cheerleader of her great-grandchildren Jordan Klumpp, Hayden Montgomery, Quinton Howe, Kaden Howe, Jaxson Montgomery, Chance Howe and Draven Kaiser.

Shelly was the daughter of James & Bonnie (Brightop) Lauderdale who preceded her in death. A sister to Roland (Monte) Blake, Mike Dunn and Jeannie Smith. A niece to Barbara Kelley "Aunt Susie" and Rick Blake. A dear friend to Nikkie Waugh Milford.

Shelly was a picture of strength, hope and grace. She was kind, loving and genuine. A true saint of a human being. She always had a smile and hug to give to anyone who needed it. If you knew Shelly, you were blessed by her presence. She was known to many as "Shellarazzi," famous for capturing amazing pictures while at the same time snagging a few of you at your worst possible angle, requiring pre-approval before posting on social media. Photography was one of her many ways of expressing her love and we will miss it dearly. Her real joys in life were her family, her animals, Komet hockey, fishing, gardening, crafting, running security at the Mottville Raceway and whenever possible being in the crowd at any event the grand or great-grandkids ever participated in.

As per Shelly's wishes, she will be cremated, and a celebration of life will occur at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at hessfuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or to the Humane Society of Noble County.
