Ruth Yvonne Kindy, age 79, of Salem, IN, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Norton Clark Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.  Ms. Kindy was born February 17, 1946, in Jackson, MI to the late William D. Jr. and Ruth Emma (Doney) Martin.  In 1964, Yvonne graduated from Lansing Everett High School in Lansing, MI.  Upon graduation, she continued her education at Jackson Junior College in Jackson, MI.  For nearly 50 years, Yvonne tediously worked in bookkeeping, secretarial work, and office administration.  She was employed by Northern Cashway Lumber, United Telephone Company, and Life Care Center of LaGrange prior to retirement.  Yvonne was passionate about caring for others and she volunteered her spare time in driving people to doctor's appointments.  She was previously an active member of the Howe United Methodist Church and then upon her move to Salem, IN, she became an active member of Pekin Methodist Church in Pekin, IN.  Yvonne loved spending quality time with her family, friends, and canine companion, Spike.  Her servant heart and caring soul will be deeply missed.

Survivors include: Son, Carl and Mary Kindy of Fort Wayne, IN. Daughter, Dianne and Christopher White of Pekin, IN. Son, Kevin and Katherine Kindy of Fort Wayne, IN. Grandson, Dennis Kindy of LaGrange, IN. Granddaughter, Kristina Lowery of Florida. Grandson, Rhyan and Allie Kindy of Fort Wayne, IN. Granddaughter, Audrey and Michael Watson of Fort Wayne, IN. Grandson, John Kindy of Fort Wayne, IN. 13 Great-grandchildren. Brother, Dan Martin of Mississippi.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bill Martin, Daughter-in-law, Diana Kindy, and a great-grandson, Grakary Lowery.

Upon Yvonne's wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life event will be held at a later date.
