Obituary

Rudolf Johannes Walklett

21 April 1967 - 10 May 2023

Rudolf was born the eldest of four siblings in a small town called Jan Kempdorp in the Northern Cape, South Africa.  He grew up in a town called Warrenton next to the Vaalriver in South Africa.  Most of the town's residents worked for the South African Railways, as did Rudolf's farther.

He had a happy childhood and has always been a free-soul.  Most of his stories regarding his years growing up, revolved around all the activities he and his friends had around the Vaalriver, swimming, building their own canoes and just getting up to mischief as boys do.  He was adventurous, and was passionate about  cars, especially vintage cars, loved the outdoors and camping for family holidays was always a favorite.

Later years he also started working at the South African Railways as a Train Driver Assistant. also in Warrenton.  In 1990 he moved to Klerksdorp, North West, South Africa, where he was still working for Spoornet (new name of the Railway company).  He then worked as a Truck driver for the delivery department, for the rest of his life he worked as a Truck Driver until he went to work for Bybee Cattle Co in Idaho USA in 2022.

Rudolf was a reasonable and wise man.  He loved and lived for his family.  We had a Daughter Charnelle in 1997, who is now unfortunately getting married in February 2024 without her Daddy.

He was a man that was an example for all his cousins of which he was the eldest and later years for all the children in the family.  When our paths crossed in 1993 I would never dream that this man would become my pillar of strength in the future, because of him I am the strong woman I am today and I still hear his voice telling me, advising me what to do when I am uncertain of what to do.

He had great respect for God's creation and treated humans and animals accordingly.

In this trying time I was amazed with how many people's lives he touched and how many were concerned about our family.

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every person in the USA that has been of help to us - Rudolf loved your Country!
