Robert "Bob" Lavern Heltzel Jr., age 60, of LaGrange, IN passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at his residence.  He was born on April 19, 1960 and raised in LaGrange, IN by Robert Sr. and Linda (Sheley) Heltzel.  In 1978, he graduated from Prairie Heights High School.  On July 25, 1980, Bob married his first love and wife of 40 years, Marion E. Potter in Wawaka, IN.  Bob worked diligently at Woodland Park for 37 years as a line foreman and in final finish.  He and his wife are members of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Sturgis, MI.  Bob's other love was archery, which he was extremely dedicated and passionate about.  He is known worldwide for his great accomplishments in the archery world.  In 2016, he received one of his greatest awards and victories as IBO World Champion.  Bob shared his love of archery with his daughters and grandchildren.  When he wasn't shooting his bow, he would be sitting in a tree stand with one of his girls.  Bob's love for his faith, wife, children, grandchildren, and family was immeasurable.  He will be truly missed and never forgotten.

Survivors include: Wife, Marion E. Heltzel. Daughter, Holly Heltzel and Rob Hakey. Daughter, Heidi (Todd) Iddings. Parents, Robert Sr. and Linda Heltzel. Grandchildren: Maddix, Kylee, and Ashley Hakey, Alaina and Malorie Iddings. Sister, Teresa Heltzel. Nieces and nephews, Peyton Parks, Chaynna, Hannah, and Jacob Spaulding. Father-in-law, Ward Potter. Grandmother-in-law, Beverly Potter. Sister-in-law, Ava (Andy) Spaulding. Brother-in-law, Daniel (Samantha) Potter. Brother-in-law, Tim (Rachel) Potter. Brother-in-law, Todd (Kathy) Potter. Many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Joanne Potter, grandparents, Alfred and Roxy Sheley, Ralph and Gertrude Heltzel, grandparent-in-laws, Charles and Marion Spoor, and grandfather-in-law, Daniel Potter.

A memorial service will be by held Sturgis Kingdom Hall virtually through Zoom on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 7:00pm-9:00pm.
