Richard Robert Young

Richard “Dick” Robert Young, age 74, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Lutheran Life Villages on Anthony Boulevard.

Dick was born on November 8, 1951, in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late Robert Arnold and Genevieve Mary (Obert) Young. In 1970, he graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School and continued his education at the University of St. Francis, both in Fort Wayne.

Dick dedicated 40 years of his career to computer sales and service, where he worked diligently and built lasting relationships. Outside of work, he was an avid poker player, playing in many tournaments both locally and nationally. He enjoyed being part of a dart league, participating in fantasy football leagues, and spending time on the golf course. He fully enjoyed the camaraderie and competition that came with these hobbies.

Survivors include his brother, Randy W. Young; nieces, Maree E. Young-Riesenmey (Richard Riesenmey) and Ann E. Young (Zachary Johnloz); and great-nephew, Jack Young.

Dick was preceded in death by both of his parents.

A memorial service honoring Dick’s life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., with visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 7633 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46835.
