Raymond “Ray” Steven Clay, age 46, of Wolcottville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026.

Ray was born on January 25, 1979, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, to William “Bill” Clay Sr. and Theresa (Malachoski) Clay. He graduated from Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark, New Jersey. On June 17, 2000, he married the love of his life, Sarah Wood, in Big Flats, New York.

Ray was employed by Courier in Kendallville, Indiana, where he worked as a Lead Pressman.

Ray was a big kid at heart. He was a big fan of Cobra Kai, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Willy Wonka. He was an avid fan of Banana Ball, the New York Yankees, and the New York Giants. He coached his children in their youth and was a positive, supportive presence in their lives.

Ray had a deep love for the Halloween season and was well known for his festive decorating, which even earned him local awards.

Above all, Ray loved being involved in his children’s lives, spending time with family, and making others laugh, even if it meant being the butt of the joke. He was a fun-loving man with a huge heart and the kind of father every child deserves. He will be deeply missed, but his laughter, stories, and memories will live on in all who knew and loved him.
