Mildred "Millie" Waneta Foltz

Mildred “Millie” Waneta Foltz, age 97, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully with her son by her side on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at her residence.

Millie was born on May 18, 1928, in Portland, Indiana, to the late Joseph "Hoyt" and Phadelma Glassford. She graduated from high school in Jay County, Indiana. Millie dedicated 33 years of service as a dispatcher for North American Van Lines before retiring.

In her youth and younger years, Millie enjoyed dancing, socializing, and spending time with friends. Later in life, she found comfort in the quiet moments at home with her son. Her pride and joy was her son, Craig, and her deep love for him was evident in countless ways — including when she surprised him by purchasing his very first car, a Camaro, a year before he received his license. Millie also enjoyed taking trips with Craig to Hoosier Park Casino in Anderson, Indiana, where she loved trying her luck and sharing special moments together.

Survivors include her son, Craig Foltz, her daughter, Zoey (furry four-legged friend), and a host of nieces and nephews.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Saloma Marie (Rohrer) Glassford; her spouse, Joseph Ellis Foltz; and her siblings, Helen Imogene Glassford, Martha Jane Schmidt, Betty Louise Hornbaker, Mary Evelyn Nevil, Edna Maxine Davidson, and Norma Eileen Spillman.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior, at Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 7633 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46835.

Burial will follow the service at Covington Memorial Gardens, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804.

In lieu of flowers, and in accordance with Millie’s wishes, memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a special trip to Hoosier Park Casino in her loving memory.
