Michael "Mike" J. Nern

Michael “Mike” J. Nern, age 75, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mike was born on December 26, 1950, in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late Clarence and Luetta (Haugk) Nern. He was a 1969 graduate of Snider High School. Mike worked in manufacturing for most of his professional life. He was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and especially cherished the time he spent relaxing at his lake cottage on Sylvan Lake in Rome City, IN.

Survivors include his sisters, Judith Grueb and Barbara (Richard) Burton; brothers, Daniel Nern and Anthony (Joan) Nern; nieces, Katie (Brian) Rutan and Karen (Anthony) Riczo; as well as two great-nieces and two great-nephews.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Cremation will take place, and private family burial will occur at a later date.
