Keith Marshall Dawson

Keith Marshall Dawson, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on September 25, 1957, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Marshall Dawson and PJ Knaggs.

Keith attended Northside High School in Fort Wayne and dedicated more than 20 years of service to Connolly’s Do-It Best Hardware and Rental, where he worked as a mechanic and small-engine repair specialist. Over the years, he became a familiar and trusted presence to both customers and coworkers alike. On June 21, 2014, Keith married Renee Hutchins in Fort Wayne.

Keith was a hardworking and devoted lifelong member of his community. He found joy in spending time with his beloved cats, fishing, and working on cars, and he remained active through various projects around his home. Above all, Keith was known for his generosity and willingness to help others. Many relied on his skill, honesty, and steady readiness to lend a hand—no matter the size of the task or the personal sacrifice involved. He was often the first to step forward when someone was in need.

Keith is survived by his loving wife, Renee; mother-in-law, Janet (Gary) Hutchins; daughters, Amber (Lorenzo) Cruz and Alyssa Nantkes; eight grandchildren; brother, Kevin (Kathy) Hile; sister, Michelle Wornick; nephews, Andrew Hile, Sr. and Eric Hile; great-nephew, Andrew Hile, Jr.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Dawson and PJ Knaggs; father-in-law, Roger Hutchins; uncle, Vic Christlieb; and cousin, Greg Christlieb.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Cremation will take place.
