Judith Ellen Watts, age 88, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on September 11, 1937, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to the late George and Marie (Kumstman) Gessl. Judith graduated from Central High School in Sheboygan and continued her education, earning an associate’s degree. She was employed by Purdue University in West Lafayette, where she worked as a grant administrator.

Judith enjoyed reading murder mysteries, crocheting, and embroidery. She was also skilled in candy making and was especially known for her famous peanut brittle, which was enjoyed by family and friends throughout the years.

Surviving family members include her daughters, Marla (Steven) Neff and Dorothy (Pat) Craney; son, Jeffrey Wilson; sister, Paulette (Larry) Hinkleman; grandchildren, Kyle, Aaron, Jessica, Alex, Andrew, Chuck, and Jeff Jr.; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sweetheart and love of her life, John Brooks, daughter, Elizabeth Wilson, and grandson, Steven Wilson.
