Joseph "Joe" Mack Goeglein, age 59, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. Mr. Goeglein was born on February 1, 1965 in Valparaiso, IN to the late Valentine Mack Goeglein and Diane Valeria Kunz. In 1983, Joe graduated from Fairfield High School. He then continued his education, where he obtained a bachelor's degree from Grace College in 1987 and later obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Bethel College in 2006. For 20 years, Joe was employed in management at UPS. He then ventured on for a couple years at United Bank of Switzerland in South Bend, IN. Joe also worked diligently for Starcraft Bus/ Forest River in Goshen, IN for 8 years. Joe most recently was employed by Brotherhood Mutual in Fort Wayne, IN in insurance sales. He was very passionate about his relationship with God, reading the bible, and teaching Sunday School. Joe was proud to teach and bestow his knowledge on various topics to others during his lifetime as well. He was a sports enthusiast who loved basketball. Joe was proud to have played on the Fairfield High School basketball team that went to sectionals and he also was extremely honored to have played for Grace College. Joe had an enormous heart for taking in children who didn't have a place to call home and loved his family.
Survivors include: Mother of his children, Polly Goeglein of New Paris, IN. Daughter, Alexis, R.N. "Lexi" (Jarrett, PhD.) Walbolt of Black Mountain, NC. Son, Dr. Brock, M.D. (Hannah) Goeglein of Durham, NC. Son, Caleb, M.Div. "Jack" (Kennedy, M.Div.) Goeglein of Columbia City, IN. Daughter, Dahlia, R.N. Goeglein of Mishawaka, IN. Son, Elijah "Lamar" Goeglein of New Paris, IN. Son, Forrest "Andrew" Goeglein of New Paris, IN. Son, Gabriel "Julian" Goeglein of New Paris, IN. Sister, Catherine (Mark) Forbing of Fort Wayne, IN. Sister, Annie (Paul) Bishop of Fort Wayne, IN. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, half-sisters, and step-sisters.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Luke Bishop.
On Friday, August 2, 2024 a memorial visitation will be held from 11am-1pm with a memorial service at 1pm at People's Bible Church, 68074 US-33, Goshen, IN 46528.
