John Henry Jones

John Henry Jones, age 75, of New Haven, IN, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Majestic Care of New Haven. He was born on March 7, 1951, in Lexington, MS, to the late Lewis and Bessie Mae (Ingram) Jones.

John graduated from Jacob McClain High School in Lexington, MS, and continued his education at Saint Junior College, also in Lexington. He was a hardworking man who spent many years working as a truck driver. Throughout his career, John was also employed as a manager for a newspaper company in Lexington and as a machine operator in the manufacturing industry.

John was well known for his warm hospitality and kindness. He had a naturally friendly personality and an ability to make those around him feel welcome and valued. He was a loyal friend who cherished the relationships he formed throughout his life. John also had a special love for dogs and was known for giving puppies as gifts to others. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Survivors include his son, Mario Vankinscott; sisters, Leola Brown, Carrie Pearl Jones, Maxine Jones- Taylor; sisters-in-law, Eva Jones and Shirley Jones; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings, Lewis Charley Jones, George Wesley Jones, Melvin Owen Jones, Robert Clarence Jones and Bessie German; sister-in-law, Lula Jones; and brothers-in-law, Alfred Brown, James Jones, and Clyde Taylor,
