In Jimi King III, age 44, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 2, 2026, at his residence.
Jimi was born on July 6, 1982, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Jimmie King Jr. and Belinda (Bright) Weaver. He was a 2001 graduate of Paul Harding High School.
Jimi had a passion for life and a personality that was impossible to overlook. He enjoyed basketball, playing the game, and skating. Jimi’s dance moves were something to behold. His passion for DJ’ing allowed him to share that energy and love of music with others. Whether on the basketball court, at the skating rink, or on the dance floor, Jimi knew how to have a good time and bring joy to those around him.
Known by many as “the life of the party,” Jimi had a natural ability to bring people together and make any gathering more memorable. He also enjoyed watching scary movies and never passed up an opportunity to spend time with family and friends.
Above all, Jimi was a devoted family man who cherished the relationships he shared with those closest to him. His three children held an especially important place in his heart, and he treasured the time he spent with them. Jimi’s outgoing personality, infectious smile, laughter, quick wit, jokes, and unmistakable dance moves left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Jimi’s presence could light up a room, and his energy and spirit will live on in the countless memories shared by those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Survivors include: his three children, Amari King, Aniyah King, and Aaliyah King; his mother, Belinda (John) Weaver; his father, Jimmie (Nicole) King; his grandmother, Curtissean Bright; his sister, Marquita (Tim) Bowley; his brother: Darius King, six nieces, Keiara Rile, Arica Carlisle, Angel Carlisle, Mariah Wooten, Angela “Mackenzie” Mosley, and Mariah Neverdon; two nephews, Adrian Spahiev and Gentry Mosley III; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jimi was preceded in death by: his grandfathers, Willie C. Bright Sr. and Jimmie King Sr.; and his grandmother, Annie Hill King Johnson.
