Jacqueline "Jackie" M. Bires, age 73, of LaGrange, IN passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.  Jackie was born on July 21, 1946 in Gary, IN to Cecil and Elizabeth (Smith) Shawver.  She graduated from Merrillville High School in Merrillville, IN.  On February 4, 1967, she married Michael T. Bires Sr. in Gary, IN.  Jackie was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.  She worked for Meijer in Angola for 12 years before retiring.  Throughout her entire lifetime, she loved hunting and fishing.  When she was younger, she had an enormous garden that she loved to tend to.   Jackie was a simple woman but had an unmeasurable amount of love for her children, family, and loved ones. Granddaughter, Jordan Bires of North Judson, IN. Grandson, Kyle Bires of Florida. Grandson, Jason Herbert-Hudson of Florida. Granddaughter, Hailey Bires of Florida. Grandson, Michael Gaylor of Georgia. Granddaughter, Kaysie Bires of LaGrange,IN. Granddaughter, Lyanna Gaylor of Georgia. Great-grandson, Hunter Herbert-Hudson of Florida. Great-grandson, Kingston Bires of Florida. Great-granddaughter, Kylynn Bires of Florida. Great-grandson, Kaiden Bires of Florida. Sister, Marge Christensen of Lake Station, IN.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, DeeDee Chubbs.

Graveside services will take place on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 11am at Brighton Chapel Cemetery in LaGrange County. Pastor Benjamin Stuckey will be officiating the service.
