Hazel F. Hentzell, age 100, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Life Care Center LaGrange, IN.  Ms. Hentzell was born on February 26, 1923 in rural LaGrange County, IN to Daniel and Ellen (Staggs) Combs.  On December 11, 1995, she married Arthur L. Hentzell in LaGrange, IN.  For many years, Hazel worked diligently as a seamstress for Work Garment Industries in Wolcottville, IN.  She was a proud mother, who raised 3 boys, and was a wonderful homemaker.  Hazel was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Shipshewana, IN.  Hazel lived a century long legacy, enjoyed gardening, canning, and working endlessly to provide for her family.

Survivors include:

Son, Franklin and Judy Combs of LaGrange, IN.

Step-son, Lonard and Elvira Blansett of Illinois.

Step-son, Bobby Blansett of Oklahoma.

Grandchildren, Shannon Rich, Cindy Combs, and Chris Combs all of Minnesota.

11 Great-grandchildren.

3 Great-great-grandchildren.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, 3 siblings; Ray Combs, Leroy Combs and Barbara McDonald.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 11:00am with calling one-hour prior from 10:00am-11:00am at Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 603 South Detroit Street, LaGrange, IN 46761.

Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, IN.

Memorial donations may be directed to Crossroads Baptist Church.

Officiating the services will be Pastor Mark W. Suever.
