Donnie Ray Carroll

Donnie Ray Carroll, age 71, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Fort Wayne.  He was born on October 22, 1954, to the late Viola Carroll and the late Jesse Carroll in Texas. Donnie worked for a time at Mayneland Farm in Naperville, Illinois and worked in the Horticulture Department at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He enjoyed the simple life, continuing his interest in gardening and building greenhouses for much of his life. Donnie also kept an interest in fishing, woodworking, and completing puzzles.

Donnie is survived by the mother of his children, Candace Carroll; son, Brandon Carroll; daughter, Lyndsey (Josh) Leonard; grandson, Emmett Leonard; grandson, Ethan Leonard; granddaughter, Harlow Leonard; and granddaughter, Harper Leonard. Donnie is also survived by a sister, Theresa Maddox, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Jesse Carroll; a sister, Sue Carroll; a sister, Donna Wallen; a brother, Kenny Carroll; and a sister, Tina Carroll. 

There are no services scheduled at this time and cremation will take place upon the family’s wishes.
