Demetrio Martin Cortez Jr., age 21, of Sturgis, MI formerly of LaGrange, IN passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in LaGrange.  Mr. Cortez Jr., was born on April 1, 2000 to Demetrio Martin Cortez Sr. and Erica Lynn Brown.  In 2018, he graduated from Lakeland High School in LaGrange.  Demetrio worked for Heartland RV in Elkhart.  He truly loved helping people and was always dedicated to serving others.  Demetrio enjoyed playing video games, watching anime, and listening to "jazzy" tunes.  He absolutely loved animals and their companionship.  Demetrio had the biggest heart and was loved by all who knew him.

Survivors include: Mother, Erica Lynn Brown of Sturgis, MI. Father, Demetrio Martin Cortex Sr. of Lithia, FL. Brother, Juan Diego Sanchez of New York. Sister, Francis Guadalupe Sanchez of Florida. Great-grandmother, Yuka Husted of Colon, MI. Grandmother, Nyoka Brown of Colon, MI. Uncle, Timothy Brown of Colon, MI.

Demetrio was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Roy Huston and grandfather, Eric Brown.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 1:00pm with visitation 1 hour prior from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 603 South Detroit Street, LaGrange, IN 46761.
