Carol L. Wilfret, age 69, of Kalamazoo, MI, formerly of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI.  Ms. Wilfret was born on February 20, 1951 in Monroe, WI to Ralph and Marcella (Bullerman) Hamman.  She graduated from Northwell High School in Ossian, IN and then continued her education in a secretary college.  She married Phillip Wilfret and spent 30 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on May 8, 2012.  Carol worked as lead secretary for The Paper newspaper publisher in Elkhart, IN for 7 years.  She had a deep appreciation and desire to gain knowledge from experiences, traveling and books.   When her children were young, she and her family enjoyed vacations to civil war battlefields and historical landmarks.  Carol liked cross stitching, computers, and designing web pages.  She loved her family and valued every second spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children; Robert, Scott, Angela, and Matthew, grandchildren; Justin, Jessica, Tyler, Jared, Kyle, Kayleigh, and Cory, and great-grandchildren; Bentley and Chase.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 603 South Detroit Street, LaGrange, IN 46761. Cremation will follow at a later date.

Memorial donations may be directed to the family for funeral expenses.
