Betty Lou Riedel of Topeka, Indiana, passed away July 28, 2020 at Northridge Village Nursing Home in Albion, Indiana.

Betty was born June 21, 1928, in LaGrange County, Indiana, a daughter of Iris Ray and Florence Mae (Yoder) Fought.  She was married to Vernon Garde Riedel on December 5, 1951 in Topeka.  He preceded her in death on February 10, 2002.

Betty is survived by her seven children – Randy, Vicki (Dean) Graham, twins James and Deborah, Gregory Sr. (Rita), Kenneth and Teresa; her grandchildren – Gregory Riedel Jr., Tennason Riedel, Cassidy Riedel, Samantha Osbon, Rebecca Hicks and Jesse Hicks; and her great-grandchildren – Christian, Izabella, and Laynee Osbon, and Trace Holliday.  Also surviving are one brother – Leon Fought; and three sisters – Pauline Truex, Shirley Oswald, and Nancy Saylor.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, seven siblings – Gerald Fought, Donald Fought, James Fought, Richard Wayne Fought, Kenneth Fought, Hilda Irene Adair, and Geraldine Gloor, and her loyal dog Lucky.

Betty loved her family above all else, and we will miss her dearly.

There are no services planned at this time.  Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services in LaGrange have been entrusted with final arrangements.
