Alex "Axle" Jon Oakley, age 59, of Howe, IN passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at his residence.  Mr. Oakley was born on July 19, 1960 in Stugis, MI to the late Robert and Betty (Munson) Oakley.  He graduated from Lakeland High School in LaGrange in 1978.  On July 23, 2000, he married Katrina Beberstein in Pigeon Forge, TN.  Axle worked for Moneys Mushroom Farm for 28 years, where he operated heavy machine equipment.  He also worked for Nisco and Will's Heating and Air for a few years.  Axle was a motorcycle and Harley Davison enthusiast and rode for nearly 42 years.  Alex was assistant director of the American Legion Riders Post# 215. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and mushroom hunting.  Recently Axle had taken on the joys of home improvement projects and renovations.  He loved spending time with his family, friends, grandchildren, and being on the open rode riding his Harley with his love, Kat.

Survivors include Spouse, Katrina "Kat" L. Oakley. Son, Joel Smith. Daughter, Ashley (Brad) Kowalczyk. Daughter, April Smith. Daughter, Desiree Music. Son, Cory (Hope) Oakley. 10 Grandchildren. Brother, Robert Jan Oakley. Sister, Judy Oerter.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 5:00pm at the LaGrange American Legion Post 215, 100 Industrial Parkway, LaGrange, IN 46761.
