Howard E. (Cotton) Taylor, 79, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. He was born on October 27, 1941 in Tyronza, AK to William and Johnnie Merle (Talbert) Taylor. He married the love of his life, Patricia (Russell) Taylor on March 25, 1961. She survives. Howard lived most of his life in Howe, IN. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and overall enjoyed the outdoors. He was employed by Martin Oil for 25 years and then went on to Lakeland School Corporation, where he retired after an impressive 20 years of service. Mr. Taylor lived his life serving the Lord and taking the best care of his family. He was always there to help anyone and brought smiles to all who knew him. Also surviving is one daughter, Tammy and Daniel Bell of LaGrange, IN, one Granddaughter, Brittney Brinneman of Sturgis, MI, three great-grandchildren; Raven, Blair, and Drake Brinneman also of Sturgis, MI, three brothers; Ronnie and Janet Taylor of LaGrange, IN, Allen and Ulamae Taylor and Morris Ray and Pat Taylor both of Arkansas, three sisters; Carol and Charles Tacker, Janice Young, and Kay Blagg all of Arkansas, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers; Donnie Taylor, Jimmie Taylor, William Taylor Jr., and Jerry Taylor, two sisters; Joyce Gilbert and Betty Kelley, son, Anthony Taylor, and grandson, Travis Gayheart.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 603 South Detroit Street, LaGrange, IN 46761.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 1:00pm at Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange.
Officiating the funeral service is Pastor Mark Suever.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
