Betty “Jean” Sayre, of Howe, IN, passed away on March 30, 2024 at the age of 95, at Parkview LaGrange with Hospice. She was born on January 23, 1929 in Stinesville, IN.
She is survived by her daughter, Delores Kay (Tom) Clarkson, Grandchildren; Marina (Jeremy) Hoover and Michael (Sarah) Clarkson, great-grandchildren; Savannah Hoover, Thomas Hoover, and Jacob Clarkson; as well as two sisters, Evelyn Cramer and Susie Smith.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Paul E. Sayre, parents; Earl and Minnie Grubb, and sister, Mary Lea Bault.
Jean was a member of the Lima Presbyterian Church of Howe, volunteered at the LaGrange Clothes and Food Basket for many years, and a member of the DAV Auxiliary of Michigan.
She enjoyed hunting for mushrooms, walks with great-grandchildren, and country music such as Alan Jackson and Johnny Cash.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 1:00pm with visitation prior from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 603 South Detroit Street, LaGrange, IN 46761.
Burial will take place at Ontario Cemetery following the services.
Officiating the services will be Pastor Dave Hughes of Lima Presbyterian Church of Howe.
